Sophie Jacobi-Parisi

Sophie Jacobi-Parisi joined the firm in 2007 as an associate and has been a partner in the firm since 2014. Sophie concentrates her practice in all areas of matrimonial and family law. She is experienced in handling complicated custody cases, particularly custody matters involving children with special needs. Sophie is experienced in negotiating prenuptial, separation and settlement agreements and she also has litigation and trial experience in New York’s Family and Supreme Courts.

Prior to joining the firm, Sophie was a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society, Juvenile Rights Practice where she represented children in various legal proceedings the Bronx Family Court. Sophie received her J.D. and her Master in Social Work in a four-year, dual degree program offered through Loyola University Chicago’s Law School and Social Work School. During graduate school, Sophie worked at the Chicago Federal Defender’s Program with their sentence mitigation expert and as a law clerk.

Sophie received her B.A. in Psychology and Religion from Bucknell University. She is an alumna of Rye Country Day School in Rye, New York and an alumna and former Trustee of Camp Onaway, an all-girls camp in New Hampshire. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Promise Project, a nonprofit organization associated with Columbia University that supports and works with underserved children with learning disabilities.

Sophie is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and served as the Co-Chair of the Family Law Section’s Continuing Legal Education Committee and the Annual Meeting and Summer Meeting Committee from 2014 to 2016. She is also a member of the Family Law Section’s Executive Committee. Sophie is a member of the New York Women’s Bar Association and served as the co-chair of the Family Law and Matrimonial Committee from 2008 to 2010. Sophie is a member of the New York City Bar Association, where she was appointed to the Matrimonial Law Committee from 2011 to 2013.

Sophie, her husband and their two children are longtime residents of the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
